Biblical Preaching Part #3

Correction is another key part to biblical preaching. First one must understand that having the obligation to correct sin does not mean force every law down the throat of mankind. Biblical correction is found in the gospels. While Jesus did not condone sin, he did not hate the sinner. Unbiblical correction is that found by legalistic Christians. Where they forget they too are sinners and make up man rules while condemning everyone else to hell. Those are the Parhasies(SP?) of today. Biblical correction is giving scripture to say one is going against God, but doing so in a humble manner. Jesus ate with sinners, did not condone their sin but called them to repentance with humbled mercy. We too must follow the ways of Jesus when preaching on correction. Correction can also be used for one’s personal walk. Use scripture as personal correction in walking the narrow road.
